Here's an interesting mix for ya. The Beatles and Metallica. Slam those bad boys together and you get.... Beatallica! Not sure how serious this is suppose to be (not very in my opinion), but there is some serious odd humor going on. The band is pretty tight from a musicianship standpoint. Members of this band include Jaymz Lennfield on vocals, Grg Hammettson (no mispelling there) on guitars, Kliff McBurtney on bass, and Ringo Larz on the skins. Obviously the hybrid thing goes right down to the names. The music is an interesting thing. Most of the tunes are Beatles tunes with lyrics that have been changed to offer the combination of both bands and reference to the Metallica side of things. I would think it would be a tad tricky to slam the two bands together not only in the names of the members and the song titles, but combining two songs into one. It's clever. 'Sandman' is one of the best examples of this. Obviously there is an 'Enter Sandman' thing going on, but you also have 'Taxman' by the Beatles. The tune sways back and forth between the two, but leans more towards 'Taxman' which is the way that most of the album goes. It will be interesting to see which fans embrace this the most. While I think it's pretty cool how well Lennfield handles Hetfield's vocal sound, the scowls become a bit redundant. The only other distraction to me is The Beatles element. I like The Beatles to an extent, but this music will be much more appealing to these who may have more of a Beatles taste. It is obvious however that Beatallica is very good at this sort of thing. I've never heard anything quite like this, but found the listen to be entertaining. If you are looking for that one thing that is very different and has a bit of intensity, this one is pretty unique.

Overall
Not bad at all. You may need to be a fan of both Metallica and The Beatles to appreciate this to the fullest, but it is all quite clever. The band did a great job of fusing these two bands together and getting a sound that both sides can appreciate. It will be interesting to see how this band does through time. Kind of a double tribute thing I guess. If you are looking for something that is heavy and definitely out there in left field, give this a try.

I'll put this right up front. This band is definitely more of a Punk band then anything. While I don't listen to Punk alot, every now and then something comes along that grabs my interest a bit. The Rezidudes was one of those that caught my attention. The first thing that jumps out at you is the album cover. Then you have the title 'Welcome to the Suck'. Not exactly sure what that's all about, but it gets your attention nonetheless. The next thing that caught my ear was the songs that this band does. This to me was the most hilarious thing of all. The band's sound to me is geared more old school Punk. The tempo is quick on most tracks and for those that were never quick to begin with, they get a serious jack up in tempo. Some of the tracks that had me laughing included the theme from 'Cheers', John Denver's 'Take Me Home Country Roads, the jacked up version of Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love', and Van Morrison's 'Brown Eyed Girl'. You kind of get the idea based on those song selections of what this band is about. Will this appeal to Metal fans? Hard to say actually. I think it's actually much more fun to listen to as a Metal fan then most of the 90's trash that we had to put up with. This is all about having fun again. Apparently the album was recorded in one take and it's presented without alot of polish. Believe me, this type of music shouldn't have polish, it should be raw and in your face. The album succeeds on this front most definitely. I would say the song on this album that most fits the band is Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' Motorhead definitely had an influence in both the Punk and Metal scenes, so I thought this was very fitting. If you aren't afraid to get slightly experimental with your music, this one is quite fun to listen to.

Overall
It's in your face, lots of humor obviously, and most definitely Punk in nature. Don't let that sway your opinion of this recording before you at least sample it. The song selections are quite humorous. Punk versions that run the spectrum of music from decades ago. The Rezidudes in my opinion lean more towards an old school Punk sound more then someone like Green Day. If you are looking for something that comes across as a bit fun, but still rocks out, check this album out for sure!
