Kiske/Somerville-City of Heroes ©2015 Frontiers Records
Upon listening to the latest from Kiske Somerville, it is amazing how well these 2 vocalists compliment each other. I went back and listened to the debut by the band and felt that the formula was pretty much the same, but I favor this album just a little more. Tracks like the title track and 'After the Night is Over' have an instant sing a long memorability. The melodic nature of this album is one of its best attributes. Really great songwriting as usual. I've spent quite a bit of time with this album so far and plan on spending much more. If you like great vocalists and a really good songs, this one is for you!

Danko Jones-Fire Music ©2015 Bad Taste Records
Well, gotta admit. I'm new to Danko Jones. He's been around for a pretty long time but never hit my radar for whatever reason. I was looking around on Youtube and stumbled across the video for 'Do You Wanna Rock' and was hooked instantly. The cowbell is off the charts and the groove is instantly memorable. To me there are obvious Punk influences through this album and maybe a bit of Danzig. The album is a bit short, but carries a lot of attitude. Now I know I need to go into his back catalog as I liked what was offered on this new album. Great artist that deserves more attention!

Dygitals-Dynamite ©2015 Mausoleum Records
Just when I thought I knew most of the bands from the 80's and my big heyday of music, here comes Dygitals. Can't say I had ever heard them before this record, or for that matter ever heard of them. The band is based in France and 'Dynamite' has a very old school approach to it. One of my favorites is '30 Years of Rock'. I can definitely relate to the bands mentioned throughout the lyrics. If you are a fan of old school hard rock, do not overlook this album. It's well done and will really appeal to fans of that particular era. You never know though, maybe some new fans will come along for the ride!

Raven-Extermination- ©2015 Steamhammer/SPV Records
One of my earliest favorite bands was without a doubt Raven. There was something cool about their bombastic approach that appealed to me. I stuck with this band. 'Extermination' reinforces why I have. In my opinion the band hit this one way out of the park. The band sounds great. Even with age I'm not hearing and slow down at all. Raven always had fans that were rabid for their sound and then people who just didn't get into it. I would highly recommend this release to fans of traditional NWOBHM style of metal with a very over the top approach. Keep at it guys, you're firing on all cylinders!

Ten-Isla De Muerta ©2015 Rocktopia Records
Latest album from Ten streets this month. Seems like it was just yesterday that the band offered us 'Albion'. Musically, this album will not really surprise fans of the band. Great melodic hard rock from a band that does it so well. What always tends to be interesting with each album is the theme. It's obvious with the album cover that pirates and pirate fare are involved. Some of the best songs are very thematic like 'Karnak-The Valley of the Kings' and the opening combo of 'Buccaneers' and 'Dead Men Tale No Tales. Another satisfying release from this great band. Recommended!
